As the midterm elections were getting closer in the United States, a group named "Knock The Vote" made a PSA taunting the new generation of voters. This PSA had old white men and women using profane language and imploring that the new generation should stay home and not vote. This was their way to infuriate the youth to persuade them to vote in the upcoming elections. They stated that the youth shouldn't vote because it will keep everything the way it is and make it less competitive for the party their supporting. The old people also addressed the different issues that are occurring through out the nation, such as school shootings and climate changes, and said that it does not concern them as they will die soon. This ad was created to irritate the youth about the different topics the old people mentioned, causing the youth to prove them wrong, but in reality, that was the whole point of the ad. To get the youth to vote.

This ad took me in surprise. I didn't expect old people to be ridiculing the youth for not voting. They are clearly using reverse physiology to get the young generation to get into the habit of helping their community. According to Time, a record of 800,000 people registered to vote on the day. This ad does not concern me in anyway because I am not of legal age to vote nor am I in America. I really think this ad was very useful because it certainly did inspire some people to register to vote.
This ad has so many fascinating aspects. It gives the listeners something to think about, as it clearly shows why they are against youth voting. This ad achieved its goal of encouraging more people to vote and it will continue to inspire more people to start voting to help their community.
I agree with you Jake. This ad also caught me by surprise when I first saw it. It was an interesting fact to learn that 800,000 people vote on the day. Just like you this ad does not really concern me, because I am not legal voting age yet, nor do I live in America. Just as surprising as you found it, I also found it surprising to be motivated by elderly people using profanity. Just like this video motivated you to vote once you turn eighteen, it also inspired me to vote once I turn eighteen as well.
